Sour cherries are among the most delicious and popular fruits of the summer season, enjoyed fresh, pickled, as jam, fruit leather, and even in dried form. Dried sour cherries make for a healthy and nutritious snack.
Drying sour cherries is traditionally carried out, often by farmers. However, sour cherries obtained from farmers may contain a considerable amount of impurities and waste that need to be separated before processing and entering the production line. Dried sour cherries can be contaminated with dirt, stones, debris, and wood, making it essential to incorporate a two-stage sieve system at the start of the production line. This system effectively captures waste in dried sour cherries and prevents it from entering the production line. To further ensure the product's cleanliness, a two-stage cold water washing system is employed to remove dirt and soil, while a hot water washing system using a steam boiler helps rehydrate and soften the dried sour cherry tissue.
The addition of a vibrator and a three-story dryer with separate temperature zones contributes to achieving the highest product quality in the final dried sour cherries.
