Dryer

The function of dryers is to reduce and eliminate the moisture of raw materials and products. There are different types of dryers according to the type of product, the amount of moisture in them, the temperature, and the way of processing. In general, the dryers are divided into two groups: semi-automatic (cabin) and fully automatic (continuous). In semi-automatic dryers, the arrangement of the product, its placement and exit from the dryer is done by human power, while in fully automatic dryers, these steps are done continuously by the machine.

In order to reduce humidity in dryers, a temperature factor is used, which is generated to create heat from a burner or an element. The three main factors of temperature stabilization, uniform circulation of warm or hot air, and timely removal of moisture from the dryer chamber are crucial in its design and construction. In some processes, for better and more precise control over the raw materials to ensure a quality product, single or multi-floor dryers with separate thermal zones are used to adjust the temperature of each part of the dryer separately. This capability allows the operator and production manager to easily process a product with the desired quality.

Continuous dryers

The function of fully automatic dryers (continuous) involves one or more conveyors responsible for transporting the product within the cabin or chamber of the dryer. At the entrance of this type of dryer, the product is continuously and evenly placed on the conveyor and is gradually fed into the dryer. Along the path, the heat or hot air generated by the ovens is meticulously controlled, and the circulation of air is directed towards the product to facilitate drying. The timely removal of moisture is a crucial parameter during the product drying process and serves as the foundation for achieving high-quality dried products.

Continuous dryers have the capability to adjust the temperature within the range of 40 degrees Celsius to 170 degrees Celsius. These dryers are designed and constructed as single or multi-layered, depending on the drying time required for each product, thanks to the use of conveyor belts.

The capacity of cabin dryers can be designed and manufactured to handle a range of loads, from 200 kg per hour to 2000 kg per hour.

In the French fries production line, all the operations conducted on potatoes so far have involved the use of water. Water serves not only to separate the starch released from the potatoes but also to prevent them from discoloring due to exposure to oxygen. Before entering the fryer for the frying process, it is essential to remove the moisture and water on the surface of the potatoes. This is accomplished by the dryer, which circulates hot air generated by the passage of steam through coils placed above the potatoes. The hot air evaporates the remaining moisture on the surface of the potatoes and directs it out of the dryer cabin. Precise calculations of coil specifications, thermal power, uniform circulation of hot air over the product, and timely removal of moisture are critical parameters in the design of the French fries production line dryer, and the designers at this company have paid close attention to them.
